The Gear Point!
The courses are not designed to put you in critical or real survival situations but to teach you how to anticipate them and deal with them. That’s why, in addition to the mandatory equipment, you can also bring whatever you want for the course (just keep the backpack weight reasonable, of course!). Analyzing the contents of a backpack is actually a very enriching exercise to find out what kind of adventurer lies within you!
One of the goals of the courses is also to teach you how to use your equipment optimally and how to do without it.
Mandatory equipment to bring
- A tarp at least 3x3 meters for 2 people (1*)
- Cord/paracord with a minimum diameter of 4 mm, length 20 meters (1*)
- A sleeping bag with a comfort temperature of around 0°C (2*)
- A sleeping pad (2*)
- Backpack (40L to 60L)
- A water bottle (preferably metal)
- 1.5 liters of water per person
- A knife
- A firesteel (1*)
- A headlamp (1*)
- Warm clothing suitable for mountain outings and evenings
- Hammock + tarp for those who wish (no mattress in this case)
If you wish, it is possible to rent the equipment pack marked with an asterisk (*)
For any equipment rental, it is essential to inform me before the course so that your equipment pack can be prepared for the day. Payment (by check or cash) for the rental is made on the day of departure.
Recommended equipment
- Notebook/pencil for taking notes for the most diligent!
- Plate/bowl and utensils (depending on the meal chosen)
- Buff/neck gaiter
- Hat (even in summer! 😉)
- Hiking shoes ideally (high or low)
- Basic personal hygiene items (depending on each person :D)
